These strange cheese-shifters need Violette’s help. They need someone to protect them when they’re trapped as cheese by day. But, after centuries of being screwed over by their caretakers, they’re wary. No one is slower to trust than Roq who expects betrayal at every corner. Even if Violette agrees to help them sell off their secret cheese stash and find a new place, he cuts her down at every turn keeping her at arm’s length. He’s hiding a secret that could destroy everything he’s fought for across the world.
But Violette has one of her own. If these cheese-men ever find out, it’ll curdle her heart.
Can the hardest of cheeses find it in himself to let his heart melt or will these cheese-shifters find themselves chewed up and spat out by life? Will Violette sell off the shop and make off with millions or risk the possibility of cheddar days for these cheesy men?

Thanks to NetGalley, I was able to get a reviewer's copy of Ellen Mint's Why Cheese. The cover art intrigued me and I chuckled when I read the book's description. What you see is definitely what you get. Perfect if you are looking for a light, yet saucy read that isn't afraid to delve into the realm of the ridiculous. Hahaha! I was thoroughly entertained and inwardly chuckled, a lot.

Light, sexy and silly with lovable characters... and yes, it's cheesy AF! LOL!

What you see is definitely what you get. Perfect if you are looking for a light, yet saucy read that isn't afraid to delve into the realm of the ridiculous. Hahaha! I was thoroughly entertained and inwardly chuckled, a lot.
📖 Story: The story itself is perfectly cheesy and flows surprisingly well. Somewhat predictable but it just works. Don't take it too seriously, folks. Reminder, this is a shifter-romance parody where sexy men turn into CHEESE.
👫 The characters are adorably lovable and quirky, each with some level of depth to them. My only issue was with the mother. She triggered me. I even skipped some parts with the mother.

✍🏻 Writing quality: I was sometimes distracted by the writing, not quite able to keep up at times, having to re-read certain passages because things didn't seem to add up but overall, I had no issues with the quality of the writing.
🌶🌶🌶 Spice level: I'd give this book a 3 out of 5 hot peppers. Descriptive sex on page, gradually working your way from M/F, all the way up to M/M/M/M/F during which there is M/M physical interaction. I was pleasantly surprised that the sex didn't overpower the plot, which was one of my main worries going in.
⚠️ Triggers and warnings: Parental mental abuse. I wasn't expecting to be triggered by a RomCom but the Mom, and the female main character reacted to her, was too much for me. I had to skip a few pages towards the end. Adult readers: 3-way, 4-way and 5-way descriptive sex, involving all partners actively engaging with one-another.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FANTASTIC! This book rocked my world. It made me laugh, or cry and loose sleep

⭐️⭐️⭐️ GOOD! Entertaining and I'm glad that I spent time with these characters and their story
⭐️⭐️ NOT FOR ME! Although I finished this book, I will not be recommending it to anyone
⭐️ DID NOT FINISH! My issues with this book was so great that I couldn't continue reading
